Hello, I keep having the same error on multiple machines, and have tried to fix it with no results.
Here is what I tried so far : , - http://www.lansweeper.com/kb/accessdenied.aspx.
ALL 6 of these steps, over and over again, - Checking the queue on http://lansweeperserver:9524, - Rebooting PCs, - Checking the Firewall and RPC related errors, - DNS entries, not cleaning them which might explain some of them, but a few of these entries are clean, - DHCP entries, same thing as above, - AD architecture for GPOs or other things that might conflict with scans, - Connection tester is OK (no FAILED message on IP, FQDN or NETBIOS), Main error is this :, Access is denied 0x80070005 (COMPUTERFQDN, COMPUTER, 1.2.3.4), I also sometimes get this error :, Wmierror Call was canceled by the message filter.
(Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010002 (RPC_E_CALL_CANCELED)) COMPUTER (COMPUTERFQDN), I am not sure what else I could try, I searched around forums a few times with different keywords, but nothing fixed my problem.
If anyone could bring suggestions to try and fix it that would be awesome.

Hi, So far I can confirm about 25 PCs on a network of 400 detected PCs, and this number can easily go up to 75 PCs (we have 77 PCs in red, with 27 having the WMI specific error).
The other red PCs simply have a RPC error and it's probably a firewall, so I am not worried about them., These machines are a mix of WinXP Pro, Windows server 2003 and Windows server 2008., I will talk to other people here and probably try the 3.5.2 beta, seeing as it's probably one of the few things I did not try yet and looks like my last hope.
I will post an updated post once I try it but feel free to suggest more things.
I will just ask first how that 3.5.2 beta can fix it, although I have seen it work in a few topics in these forums but do not quite understand how it fixed it., Thank you.

Yes, the DNS is correct, it might be the issue for some of them but I highly doubt it since not all of them have multiple entries in the DNS console.
Their IP address corresponds to the DNS and DHCP consoles also., I have not tried the 3.5.2 beta yet, but if you have any more suggestions please let me know about them., Thanks.

I have tried the 3.5.2 beta, for some odd reason it works when I tested it on a different non-premium Lansweeper testing box, but when I tried the beta on the production box with the main database, it did not fix anything., For the contact by mail, could you detail a bit (by PM if you want) what you will do ?.
I am not sure there is much more you can suggest that has not already been said in this forum., Also, when I try to use the remote control on these machines, it says " Registry access failed " or something similar.
Could there be something that is configured badly and that does not allow me to send or receive the data from the Lansweeper server box?, , Thanks.

Around when I started getting the WMI errors I noticed there has been this message that shows up in errorlog.txt : , A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process.

What I did was simply take an unused box and install Lansweeper from scratch on it since it did not work on my already existing test box, probably because I fiddled around with settings too much., I installed the Lansweeper service, the database and the website.
Once that was done I took the database to migrate and got these errors.
So the way I see it the SQL lansweeperuser should be created the same in both SQL instances since I did not modify it., , EDITED SINCE I DONT WANT TO WASTE POSTS :, I have managed to fix the db access denied by creating a new lansweeperuser2 in SQL studio express, giving it ownership of the lansweeperdb database, removing the old lansweeperuser and renaming lansweeperuser2 to lansweeperuser.
Now the database migration works perfectly.
There is still the WMI errors.
I managed to somehow scan 1 PC with a WMI error before, but the rest still have the errors.

I have resolved the issue.
I just needed to trigger scans with a .local extension to the domain.
This means it was most likely a DNS issue, but I am sure glad it got fixed., Hopefully not too many people will encounter this problem, and if they do, well hopefully this topic will help them with it :).

, Running Lansweeper 3.5.1 Premium version, We have different version of Mcafee Viruscan installed but Lansweeper is reporting only version until 7.x, Versions 8 and 8.5 are not reported with the exception of 3 out of 100 computers.
All other software are reported correctly: I really do not understand why, since if it were a problem related to an unscanned key then I should not ever see it , Any suggestion ?.

You are right: it seems that McAfee has the ability to be hidden from the add/remove programs list during the setup and the automatic installation we're using has this flag enabled.

One easy way to do this would be to find a file that is Mcafee only and have it scanned, then make a report that shows you all of the PC's that have it.

, Running Lansweeper 3.5.1 Premium version, We have different version of Mcafee Viruscan installed but Lansweeper is reporting only version until 7.x, Versions 8 and 8.5 are not reported with the exception of 3 out of 100 computers.
All other software are reported correctly: I really do not understand why, since if it were a problem related to an unscanned key then I should not ever see it , Any suggestion ?.

You are right: it seems that McAfee has the ability to be hidden from the add/remove programs list during the setup and the automatic installation we're using has this flag enabled.

One easy way to do this would be to find a file that is Mcafee only and have it scanned, then make a report that shows you all of the PC's that have it.

I am evaluating lansweeper and hope to purchase it however there are computers that lsass (netlogon service) terminates and reboots whenever I try to run lsclient.exe, The message appears after lsclient runs is:, This system is shutting down.
Please save all work in progress and log off.
Any unsaved changes will be lost.
The shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM., Time before shutdown: [countdown 60 seconds], Message, The system process 'c:\windows\system32\lsass.exe' terminated unexpectedly with status code -1073741819.
The system will now shutdown and restart., , I can abort the shutdown with shutdown -a however after I abort I dont have permissions to do anything in windows., Both of these computers are running Windows XP SP3, Thanks in advance.

Are there any plans to include a 'delete' button in future versions of Lansweeper ?.
I cannot determine how to delete a single computer from the database.
I tried using an SQL management application but had no luck.
I actually broke something in the process of experimenting and had to restore the database from a backup., A 'delete computer' button in the Lansweeper interface would be most helpful!, Walt.

You find the Serialnumber in the table TBLBIOS fieldname SerialNumber the Biosdate is in the same table Fieldname ReleaseDate.

I've never really looked before, but I just discovered that gpedit.msc can connect to a remote computer.
The syntax is as follows : gpedit.msc/gpcomputer:{computer}, Before you go to make a custom action from this, I should warn that I discovered an odd bug with this.
It seems to cut off the first letter of the computer name.
So when trying to connect to computer1, you'll get an error message stating it could not connect to omputer1.
Simple solution is to modify the line like so : , gpedit.msc/gpcomputer:.{computer} (notice the extra .).
